DivePlot — Support

DivePlot reads a dive from your dive computer over Bluetooth and turns it into a photo or video overlay — a depth-profile graph, a dive-computer replay with live readouts, or both — on top of your own dive photo or as a transparent PNG/video for editing.

This is the fastest way to reach us. When something goes wrong, include your phone model, your dive-computer model, and what the status text on screen said — that usually lets us pinpoint it right away.

Supported dive computers

• Halcyon Symbios (handset and HUD), via Bluetooth — full support, including rebreather data: cell pO₂, CNS %, deco stops and tank pressure.
• Other brands (Shearwater and many more, via the libdivecomputer library) — iOS only, in beta. Not available on Android yet.
• The app downloads your 5 most recent dives and lets you pick one.

Brand not listed? It can probably be added — support runs on libdivecomputer, which covers most brands. E-mail rogier@qusax.eu with your brand and model.

Frequently asked questions

My dive computer isn't found

Put the computer in Bluetooth/upload mode (on a Symbios: just awake and nearby; on most other brands: the dedicated upload/Bluetooth menu), keep it within a metre of your phone, and make sure Bluetooth is on. The app scans for a Symbios first and automatically searches other brands after about 8 seconds — or tap "Other brand? Search now".

The download stops halfway or the computer shows a timeout

Keep the app in the foreground; the screen stays awake automatically during a download. Failed transfers are retried automatically. If it still fails, move the phone closer and try again — Bluetooth dive-computer transfers are slow (a full logbook index can take a minute; the progress percentage shows it's working).

Where is my dive after I go back to the home screen?

Under "Recent dives" on the home screen — downloaded dives are kept there (the last 12), so you never need to re-download. Your last overlay design is also restored automatically.

How do I remove the watermark / export video?

These are one-time purchases in the overlay studio's export menu. Already paid? Use "Restore" on the paywall (or buy again with the same Apple/Google account — the store restores it free of charge).

Can I use the overlay in my own video editor?

Yes. Export without a background photo and you get a transparent PNG; on iOS you can also export a transparent video (HEVC with alpha) that drops straight into most editors (Final Cut, Premiere, CapCut, DaVinci).

Which export formats are available?

16:9 (Full HD and 4K), 4:3, 9:16, 3:4, 1:1 and 4:5 (Instagram).

What data does DivePlot collect?

Nothing personal. No account, no analytics, no ads. Dives and designs stay on your device. Purchases are validated through RevenueCat with an anonymous identifier. See our privacy policy for the full details.

Troubleshooting — quick checklist

1. Bluetooth on, phone within 1 metre of the dive computer.
2. Dive computer awake / in upload mode.
3. Stay in the app during the transfer.
4. Retry once — transient Bluetooth drops are retried, but a fresh attempt after waking the computer helps.
5. Still stuck? E-mail rogier@qusax.eu with your phone model, dive-computer model and what the status text said.
