DivePlot turns a dive-computer log into a photo or video overlay. This policy explains exactly what data the app handles, where it stays, and the one third party involved. In short: DivePlot has no accounts, no login, no analytics, no ads, no tracking and no servers of our own. Everything you create stays on your device.

1. Who we are

DivePlot is published by Qusax. For any privacy question you can reach us at rogier@qusax.eu. Because the app collects no personal data on our servers (we don't have any), there is nothing on our side to look up about you.

2. The short version

We do not ask you to create an account or log in.
We do not use analytics, advertising, crash-reporting services or any tracking.
We do not run our own servers; DivePlot does not upload your dives, photos or designs anywhere.
The only third party that receives any data is RevenueCat (in-app purchases), plus Apple or Google, who process the actual payment. None of them receive your name, email or contact details — the app never collects those.

3. Data DivePlot handles — on your device only

All of the following is stored and processed locally on your device. It is never sent to us or to anyone else.

Dive log data	Read from your dive computer over Bluetooth or imported from a UDDF file: depth, temperature, pO₂ (rebreather), CNS %, deco stops, tank-pressure samples, dive number, start date/time and duration.	A local "recent dives" list, limited to your 12 most recent dives. Never uploaded.
Photos	A background photo you pick through the system photo picker (DivePlot does not get broad access to your photo library). Used only to render the overlay.	Only in memory to build the overlay; exports (PNG/video) are saved to your own album or handed to the system share sheet, and only when you tap to do so.
Overlay designs & settings	Colours, sizes, positions, toggles, and one optional free-text label (a "name" you can type onto the overlay).	Local device preferences.
Nearby Bluetooth devices	The advertised name/identifier of dive computers near you, used to find and connect to yours.	Used only during the connection session; not stored afterwards and not transmitted.
Purchase entitlements	A local flag for unlocks you've bought ("watermark removed", "video unlocked"), so they keep working offline.	Local cache on your device.

The optional name label is free text you type yourself. It stays on your device and is only visible in overlays you choose to export or share.

4. Third parties

RevenueCat (in-app purchases)

DivePlot includes RevenueCat's SDK to manage purchases and unlocks. When you make or restore a purchase, RevenueCat receives:

a random, anonymous app-user ID generated by the SDK (not linked to your identity),
purchase receipt / transaction data from the app store,
basic device metadata the SDK collects: OS version, device model, app version and locale.

This is used solely to validate purchases and keep your unlocks in sync. RevenueCat does not receive your name, email or any contact data — the app never collects those. RevenueCat's privacy policy: revenuecat.com/privacy.

Apple App Store / Google Play

Apple or Google processes the actual payment. DivePlot never sees your payment details (such as card numbers).

There are no other SDKs in DivePlot that send data off your device: no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising.

5. Permissions and why we ask

Bluetooth — to find and read your dive computer.
- iOS: the Bluetooth permission.
- Android 12+: BLUETOOTH_SCAN (declared with neverForLocation) and BLUETOOTH_CONNECT.
- On older Android (≤ 11) the operating system historically ties Bluetooth scanning to the location permission (declared with maxSdkVersion=30). DivePlot does not read, use or store your location on any platform.
Photo library (add / select) — to pick a background photo and to save your exported overlays and videos to your album.
Keeping the screen awake while downloading from a dive computer. This needs no permission; we mention it only so you know why the screen stays on.

6. What we do not do

No accounts or logins.
No analytics, advertising or tracking across apps or websites.
No location collection or use.
No selling or sharing of personal data.
No servers of our own that store your content.

7. Retention and deletion

All app data lives on your device and is deleted when you delete the app.
The recent-dives list keeps only your 12 most recent dives; older entries are overwritten automatically.
RevenueCat retains purchase records under its own policy. You can restore your purchases at any time with "Restore purchases" in the app.

8. Children

DivePlot is a general-audience app and does not knowingly collect any data from children. It contains no features aimed at children.

9. Your rights (GDPR / EU)

Qusax is based in the EU and respects the rights the GDPR gives you (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability).

Because DivePlot stores your data only on your device and we hold no personal data about you on our side, you are already in full control:

Access / portability: your data is all on your device (dive list, designs, exports).
Erasure: delete the data in the app, or delete the app, to remove it.
Purchases handled by RevenueCat: these are tied to an anonymous identifier, not to your identity. For any request about RevenueCat-held purchase data, see RevenueCat's privacy policy, or contact us at rogier@qusax.eu and we'll help where we can.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

10. International transfers

RevenueCat may process purchase data outside the EU. Such processing is covered by RevenueCat's own privacy policy and safeguards. DivePlot itself transfers no personal data.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change how DivePlot handles data, we will update this policy and its "Last updated" date. Material changes will be reflected in the app or its store listing.
